1st National Symposium on Media and Mental Health held on 3rd May, 2018

School of Creative Arts, University of Lahore has organized 1st National Symposium on Media and Mental Health.

Director General, Punjab Higher Education Commission Dr. Shahid Soraya graced the event as Chief Guest. The worthy Rector University of Lahore Dr. Mujahid Kamran received the Chief Guest on behalf of UoL. The Chief Guest and the worthy Rector shed light on the importance of initiative and the significance of awareness about mental health. The symposium chair Prof. Dr. Farah Malik Director Institute of Psychology, Punjab University compare the media content of past and present. Chair Symposium Dr. Noshina Saleem. Institute of Communication Studies, Punjab University endorsed the importance of media in mental health literacy. Many other notable speakers, guests and panelists included Dr. Asghar Nadeem Syed, Dr. Wajiha Rizvi (BNU), Mr. Abdul Rehman Sadaqat (Willing Ways), and Dr. Naumana Amjad. 

Symposium was divided into multiple sessions including inauguration and award distribution ceremony. The award for best research, documentary, and TVC were also awarded by session chairs. Students from various Universities of Lahore participated in the symposium with their research work, TVCs and documentaries. The focal persons Ms. Arooj Arshad and Mr. Basim Mir along with their core team and students of SOCA worked tirelessly to turn event into success.
